Coaker's Walk is a picturesque walking plaza where you can enjoy stunning views of the valley and mountains. The walk has several view-points where you can stop and marvel the scenery. From there, head to the Bryant Park, a beautifully maintained botanical garden, exhibiting a diverse collection of plants and flowers. Stroll around the garden and relax in the serene environment.
Start your day with a visit to the Kurinji Andavar Temple, a Hindu temple famous for its Kurinji flower, which blooms once in twelve years. Next, head to the Kodai Lake, where you can indulge in boating, horse-riding and cycling. The lake is surrounded by enchanting hills and valleys. Spend a few hours enjoying the serene ambiance here.
Begin the day with a visit to the Bear Shola Falls, a majestic waterfall surrounded by dense forest. The falls are ideal for swimming and picnics. Later head to the Pine Forest, a dense forest with tall pine trees, perfect for nature walks and trekking.
Drive down to the two famous viewpoints - Dolphin's Nose, a rock that looks like a dolphin's nose and Echo Point, where the echo of the sound you produce reverberates from the valley. Also, go to a nearby quaint village named Vattakanal known for its serene atmosphere and off-beat hiking trails. Enjoy a local South Indian meal and head back to the bus stand.
For those with extra time, consider visiting the Silver Cascade Falls and the Wax Museum. If you have less time, skip Dolphin's Nose and Vattakanal and extend time at Pine Forest or Kurinji Andavar Temple. Always carry an umbrella and wear suitable shoes as it rains frequently in Kodaikanal. Also, try tasting local South Indian dishes like Dosa, Sambar, and Idly at roadside eateries and avoid processed/fast food.
