3-Day Itinerary for Mysore

  1. Day 1: Mysore Palace

    Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is a stunning example of Indo-Saracenic architecture and the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty. The palace is adorned with intricate carvings, stained glass, and beautiful paintings, making it a visual delight. Visitors should not miss the Sound and Light Show which showcases the palace's history and culture. Outside, the palace is surrounded by lush gardens that are perfect for a relaxing stroll.

  2. Day 2: Chamundeshwari Temple
    25 minutes (12 km) from Mysore Palace

    The Chamundeshwari Temple is located atop the Chamundi Hills and is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Chamundeshwari, an incarnation of Durga. Visitors must climb 1000 steps to reach the temple, which can be challenging for some. The climb is worth it as the temple's architecture is unique, and it offers stunning views of Mysore and the surrounding hills. On the way down, stop at the Nandi statue, a 15ft tall monolith and the largest of its kind in India.

  3. Day 3: Brindavan Gardens
    30 minutes (20 km) from Chamundeshwari Temple

    Brindavan Gardens is a beautiful garden situated next to the Krishnarajasagara Dam built on the River Kaveri. The gardens are famous for their symmetrically arranged fountains that dance to the rhythm of music and colored lights at night. Visitors can also take a boat ride on the river and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. A perfect place to end your Mysore journey.
