Start your day with a nature extravaganza. With sprawling gardens, musical fountains, and vibrant-colored flora, Brindavan Gardens is a treat to the senses. Stroll through the gardens, take a boat ride, or simply relax and enjoy the colorful fountains. The gardens are especially fascinating when illuminated post-sunset.
Next stop is Bandipur National Park, home to a variety of flora and fauna, including elephants, tigers, deer, and monkeys. There are several safari options to choose from – jeep, van, or bus. Remember to keep your camera handy and capture the beauty of the nature reserve.
Start your second day with a visit to Chamundi Hill, an important religious landmark in the city. With a 1000-step climb, this hill provides an excellent workout. Admire the stunning panoramic views of the city from the top, stop by the Chamundeshwari Temple, or explore the Nandi Bull statue.
Head over to the KRS Dam, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mysore, and enjoy the spectacular views of the expansive backwaters. Take a stroll through the lovely gardens surrounding the dam and learn about the history of the structure. Don't forget to get some souvenirs from the local shops.
If you have more time, you can add more destinations to your itinerary, such as Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, St. Philomena's Church, or Mysore Zoo. For those with limited time, you can skip Chamundi Hill and spend more time at Bandipur National Park or Brindavan Gardens. Note that the best time to visit Mysore is between October and March, when the weather is pleasant. Also, carry comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and umbrellas to beat the heat and stay safe.
