Three Days in Varkala

  1. Day 1: Varkala Beach

  2. Day 2: Janardhana Swamy Temple & Kappil Beach

    Visit the Janardhana Swamy Temple where Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Janardhana in an astounding granite monument. The temple has a beautiful architecture and its surroundings offer absolute peace and calmness to your mind and soul. After the prayer, head towards the serene and uncontrived Kappil Beach, situated between the backwaters and the sea. Take a walk in the golden sand while enjoying the pristine beauty of the sea, palm groves, and the backwaters. You can also take a boat ride to reach the nearby Kappil Lake.

  3. Day 3: Anjengo Fort & Varkala Tunnel
    30 minutes (10 km) from Janardhana Swamy Temple

    Visit the Anjengo Fort, an old British fort built-in 1695, now in ruins but has a scenic view of the sea. The fort has a cemetery for British soldiers that is still maintained and visible in good condition. Afterward, visit the Varkala Tunnel, an old tunnel built for Englishmen to connect the Town and the seashore. The long tunnel going through the hill connects Edava-Two village to the Varkala beach. It provides a unique experience and also fascinating for history buffs.
