Start your nature trip by visiting Pykara Falls, situated in the PJM Forest Reserve. It is around 70 meters high and cascades in two sections, forming a pool at the bottom. You can even take a dip in the pool or go for a hike in the nearby Shola forests.
Spend the day exploring the Mudumalai National Park, located at the foothills of the Nilgiri Mountains. The park has numerous rare animal species like Bengal Tigers and Indian Leopards, and bird species like the Indian Eagle Owl and Malabar Grey Hornbill. You can even take a Jeep Safari to explore the park.
Head to the Avalanche Lake, a reservoir formed by an avalanche in the region. Surrounded by mountains and dense forests, this lake offers a serene environment to relax and be amidst nature. You can also participate in activities like hiking, camping and fishing
End your nature trip by heading to the Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in the Nilgiri mountain range. The peak offers beautiful panoramic views of the surroundings. You can also visit the Telescope House at the peak if you want a closer look at the surroundings.
If you have more time, you can visit other nature spots like the Botanical Gardens or the Emerald Lake. But if you have less time, it's recommended to skip the Avalanche Lake and spend more time in the Mudumalai National Park. Make sure to carry comfortable shoes and clothing, and stay hydrated during these outdoor activities.
