The Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Mountain range, situated at an altitude of 2,637 meters above sea level. From the peak, one can have a panoramic view of the entire surrounding areas. The Doddabetta Tea Factory nearby offers a guided tour for those interested to learn about tea making process.
Pykara River originates from the Mukurthi peak and flows through the plateau to enter the Moyar River. You can enjoy the scenic beauty of the falls and take a boat ride in the river. To reach the falls, you have to trek a short distance.
Avalanche Lake is surrounded by dense forests and has abundant natural beauty. You can try trekking, camping, and fishing in the lake. You can also visit the Emerald Dam and the Tea Gardens located nearby.
If you have an extra day, you can add a visit to the Botanical Gardens or the Rose Garden. If you have less time, you can skip Avalanche Lake or Pykara River based on your preference.
