Exploring Udupi in One Day

1. 9:00 AM: Sri Krishna Temple
   Located in the heart of the city, the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple opens at 9 AM and is a spiritual hub for devotees.

   The beautiful architecture of the temple is sure to leave you mesmerized. You can witness the grandeur of the temple and participate in the morning aarti, which is held at 9.15 AM

2. 10:30 AM: Malpe Beach
   The beautiful Malpe Beach is situated at a distance of 6 km from the temple. As you move towards the beach, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. Located near harbor town, the beach is famous for its Shrimp cultivation and water sports activities.

   Take a dip in the sea, enjoy the fresh breeze and relish some local snacks as you enjoy the view.

3. 1.00 PM: Lunch at Hotel Diana
   About 3 km from Malpe Beach, Diana Hotel is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. The restaurant serves delicious South Indian meals at affordable prices. With excellent service and ample seating, it is a great place to take a break and refuel.

   Do try the fish dishes which are their specialty.

4. 3:00 PM: St. Mary’s Island
   Located about 6 km from the hotel, this destination offers a unique experience with the unusual hexagonal basalt pillars formed over volcanic rock.

   You can purchase tickets at the Malpe Beach jetty and take the ferry to the island. At the island, take a stroll, enjoy the picturesque view and indulge in some beach activities. Ensure that you leave the island before 5 PM.

5. 6:00 PM: Visit Kapu Light House
   Located about 11 km northwest of Udupi, the Kapu Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Karnataka. It is an architectural marvel and is surrounded by natural beauty.

   Enjoy the sunset and capture panoramic shots of the landscape. The lighthouse premises are closed for visitors after sunset, ensure that you reach before closing time.
