Begin your trip by exploring the capital city of Kashmir, Srinagar. Start with a morning visit to the Dal Lake, where you'll have the chance to relax in a Shikara (a Kashmiri houseboat) and enjoy the stunning views. After that, head to the Mughal Gardens, which is a beautiful garden complex created by the Mughal emperors. Finally, visit Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Srinagar, which is a unique blending of Islamic and Buddhist architecture styles.
Spend the day in Gulmarg, one of the most popular hill stations in Kashmir. Take a gondola ride to Apharwat Peak to enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayan range. Later, head to Khilanmarg, a beautiful meadow situated at the top of the hill. Here you can try Horse Riding and enjoy the surreal scenery amidst the snow-clad mountains.
Make your way towards Pahalgam which is situated on the banks of the Lidder River. Firstly, go and explore the Betaab Valley, which is a picturesque valley named after the Bollywood movie "Betaab". After that, you can visit Chandanwari, which is the starting point of the famous Amarnath Yatra and finally end your day by visiting Aru Valley which is known for its natural beauty and scenic surroundings.
Visit Sonmarg, also known as the "Meadow of Gold" situated on the bank of the Sindh River. Here you can take a horse ride to Thajiwas Glacier, a beautiful glacier located at an altitude of 9,186 feet. Next visit the Zojila Pass, which is known for its scenic beauty as well as being the gateway to the Ladakh region. End the day with an exploration of the Gangabal Lake, which is a beautiful lake located at the foothills of Mount Haramukh.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to Sinthan Top, which is a beautiful hill station located at a distance of 120 km from Srinagar. Additionally, it is also recommended to visit a local Kashmiri market, such as Lal Chowk, to experience the culture and sample some of the famous local delicacies. If you have less time, it is recommended to skip a visit to Sonmarg and do a day tour to Dachigam National Park, known for its rich wildlife and biodiversity.
