Spend your first day relaxing at the stunning Gokarna Beach, one of the most popular spots in the area. Take a dip in the clear water or just enjoy soaking up the sun on the soft sand. You can also take a walk along the beach and explore the nearby shacks selling delicious seafood.
Explore the beautiful Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the most famous religious sites in Gokarna. Admire the intricate architecture and learn about the temple's rich history. The temple is also surrounded by a picturesque setting, with lush green gardens and scenic views of the ocean.
Take a trip to the ancient Mirjan Fort, located a short drive from Gokarna. The fort dates back to the 16th century and is known for its impressive architecture and stunning location at the banks of the river. Explore the different sections of the fort like the Durbar Hall, Watchtower, and Magazine House which are well-preserved even to date.
On your last day, head to the mesmerizing Yana Caves. A geological wonder in the Sahyadri mountain range, the limestone cave has two magnificent rock formations called Mohini Shikara and Bhairava Shikara. The journey towards the caves is also very scenic with beautiful countryside views and adventurous winding roads.
If you have more time, you can visit the Om Beach, Paradise Beach and Kudle Beach. Do remember that all the beaches in Gokarna are closed at night for safety reasons. If you have less time, visit only Gokarna Beach and Mahabaleshwara Temple and you can complete the essentials in a day and a half. Avoid visiting on public holidays as the places can be crowded.
