Pagoda Point is a scenic viewpoint that overlooks the Yercaud town and a cluster of hills. It is named after four towering structures which were built on it by a group of tourists from the city years ago. It is a perfect place to begin a trip to Yercaud, as it sets the tone of the adventure-filled day ahead.
Located atop the Shevaroys, the Sevaroy Temple is an architectural masterpiece that ha an altitude of 5,326 feet. The cool breeze around the temple adds to the tranquil atmosphere that the temple provides. It is a right blend of traditional and modern architecture and is surrounded by lush green trees, making it one of the best places for adventure seekers.
An adventurous trek to the Bear's cave is a must do to sustain the thrill throughout the tour. The cave is situated in the middle of a forest and can be reached after a steep climb. The cave is believed to be home to various animals in the region, but it is not recommended to visit during the nights or dawn.
Make way to the Botanical Garden situated near the greenhouses which has exquisite gardens and fascinating varieties of plants and flowers. This greenhouse is home to some of the rare species of flora and fauna that can be found in Yercaud. The sight of colorful flowers and rare plant species in the beautiful gardens is a perfect end to Yercaud's adventurous day trip.
If you have more time, you can visit Lady's Seat/Silver Cascade Falls - A giant rock formation, four kilometers south-west of the Yercaud hill station. More than the attraction of the rock itself, the views of the Mettur Dam and its surrounding valleys are fantastic.
If you have less time, head straight to Bear's Cave from Pagoda Point and then visit the Botanical Garden before returning to the Yercaud Bus Stand.
