    Varkala Beach, also known as Papanasam Beach, is a beautiful stretch of sand sandwiched between towering cliffs and the Arabian Sea. Take a morning dip in the refreshing waters and enjoy the views. You can rent a surfboard or book a surfing lesson. The beach is surrounded by countless cafes, restaurants, and shops. Join a yoga class, or get a relax massage to soothe your tired muscles. In the evening, find a spot to watch the beautiful sunset.

  2. Day 2: Anjengo Fort
    12 minutes (5.6km) by auto-rickshaw from Varkala Beach

    Built by the British East India Company in 1695, Anjengo Fort is a fascinating piece of history. It played a major role in the Anglo-Mysore War and is now a protected monument. Take a walk around the ramparts and observe the beautiful views of the sea and the backwaters. Inside the fort, you will find an old cemetery and a chapel dedicated to St. Francis Xavier. Visit and learn the stories surrounding the place. The fort is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm every day.
