Start your day by visiting the serene Pookode Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by lush green forests. You can take a stroll around the lake or go for a boat ride to admire the serene beauty of the surroundings. Keep an eye out for the various species of birds and animals that call this place home. There are also some small shops selling souvenirs that you can check out.
On day 2, drive to the Edakkal Caves which is a popular archaeological site located on the top of a hill. It features prehistoric petroglyphs, cave drawings, and ancient stone scripts that are thousands of years old. The ascent to the caves is quite steep, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. The view from the top is breathtaking, and a sure bet to make some memories.
If you have more time, you could visit additional spots like Thirunelli Temple or the Phantom Rock that are not too far away from Wayanad.
If you have less time and would prefer a relaxing day, you could choose to skip the Edakkal Caves and spend more time at the Pookode lake instead, or just immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the town.
