    A morning shikara ride on the beautiful Dal Lake is a must-do when in Srinagar. You will be mesmerized by the beautiful surroundings and the floating markets. Bargain hard with the vendors for a good deal.

  2. 9:00AM: Shalimar Bagh
    40 minutes (8.6 km) from Dal Lake

    Built in 1619 by Emperor Jahangir for his beloved wife, this Mughal garden boasts of being one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Take a stroll in the garden and admire the fountains, canals, and the grand pavilion.

  3. 12:00PM: Hazratbal Shrine
    20 minutes (5.3 km) from Shalimar Bagh

    Located on the banks of Dal Lake, Hazratbal Shrine is considered to be one of the holiest Muslim shrines in India. The architecture of the shrine is a blend of Iranian and Indian styles. Spend some time in contemplation and soak in the peaceful aura of the shrine.

  4. 2:00PM: Nishat Bagh
    25 minutes (8.2 km) from Hazratbal Shrine

    Another enchanting Mughal garden situated on the banks of the Dal Lake, Nishat Bagh is spread over 12 terraces and has a mesmerizing view of the Zabarwan Mountains. The garden is famous for its Chinar trees, fountains, and water channels.

  5. 4:00PM: Pari Mahal
    25 minutes (11.0 km) from Nishat Bagh

    A seven-terraced garden located at the top of the Zabarwan mountain range, Pari Mahal was once a Buddhist monastery before it was converted into a School of Astrology during the Mughal period. From here, you can get a panoramic view of Srinagar city and the Dal Lake.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you could visit some other beautiful places in Srinagar such as the Mughal Gardens of Chashme Shahi and Achabal. If you have less time, you could skip Hazratbal Shrine or Pari Mahal. Do carry warm clothing as the weather in Srinagar can get cold, even during summers. Bargain hard with the vendors, especially when taking a shikara ride on the Dal Lake.
