Discovering Mysore: A Four-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Mysore Palace

    Located in the outskirts of the city, Chamundi Hills offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The charming Chamundeshwari temple Located here is devoted to the Goddess Parvati, and it draws many pilgrims to the highest point in Mysore. Visitors can observe the 16ft tall monolith sculpture of Nandi Bull on the way to the Temple.

  3. Day 3: Brindavan Gardens
    25 minutes (20 km) from Chamundi Hill

    The Brindavan Gardens, also known as the Krishnaraj Sagar Dam, is a beautiful park situated on the banks of River Kaveri. Tourists can take a boat ride on the KRS dam, watch musical fountains and enjoy the colorful garden. This garden looks stunning after sunset with colorful bulbs lighting up its backdrop.

  4. Day 4: Mysore Zoo
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Brindavan Gardens

    A sprawling 157-acre zoo, Mysore Zoo houses a wide variety of animals such as big cats, hyenas, gorillas, and many species of birds. The zoo is also known for its breeding programs and reserve forest. Children will enjoy a ride on the toy train that meanders through the park.

If you have less time, then consider skipping Brindavan Gardens as the boat rides could be time-consuming. Alternatively, you can visit the Nagarhole National Park which is a 2-hour drive from Mysore.
