The Gandhi Sarovar Trek is a strenuous and rewarding multi-day trek ending in the picturesque Gandhi Sarovar Lake. With lush green forests, stunning Himalayan peaks, and the Vasuki Tal lake on the way, this trek offers nature at its most pristine.
Sonprayag offers a peaceful break from the activity of the pilgrimage. The town has a serene aura, with the confluence of two rivers and picture-perfect Himalayan landscapes. Visitors can take a dip in the holy waters here.
Gaurikund is a small and peaceful town lying on the banks of Mandakini River. The town is famous for its natural thermal springs and stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas. The 14 km ascent trek to Kedarnath commences here with numerous temples and ashrams by the river.
The Triyuginarayan Temple is one of the few ancient hill-region temples found in the area. Surrounded by lush green forests and stunning hilly terrain, the temple has a peaceful ambiance that soothes the soul. The temple has great mythological significance, and people believe that Lord Vishnu has performed the couplet of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati here.
For those with more time, an additional day or two trekking to the beautiful Kedardome. For those with less time, Sonprayag and Triyuginarayan Temple can be combined into a single day trip, or Gaurikund can be skipped. Start the day early and carry enough water, snacks, and medicine for the treks.
