Talacauvery is the origin of the river Cauvery, located atop the Brahmagiri Hills. It's a popular pilgrimage site and you can witness the miraculous spring from where Cauvery River takes birth. You can also visit the nearby Bhagamandala temple and Triveni Sangam confluence of Cauvery, Kannike and Sujyoti River.
You can start the morning with a visit to the Dubare Elephant Camp, home to over 150 Indian elephants. You can take an elephant ride, interact with these friendly giants, and learn about elephant conservation in India. You can also go for a short trek in the Dubare forest or enjoy river rafting and coracle rides in the Cauvery River.
You can visit the picturesque Abbey Falls, nestled amidst the lush greenery of Western Ghats. You can take a short hike to the falls and enjoy the refreshing mist. You can also visit the nearby coffee plantations, hike to the Mandalpatti viewpoint or go on a Jeep safari to Nagarhole National Park.
You can spend the day exploring the Nisargadhama Island, a tranquil paradise located in the middle of the Cauvery River. You can walk on the hanging bridge, visit the deer park, and go boating in the river. You can also visit the nearby Buddhist Golden Temple and Harangi Dam.
If you have more time, you can consider adding a visit to the Namdroling Monastery in Bylakuppe or the Iruppu Falls. If you have less time, you can consider dropping Nisargadhama Island from your itinerary. Carry comfortable footwear as you’ll be doing a lot of walking and hike.
