Start your trip with a visit to Manali’s iconic Hadimba Devi Temple. Dedicated to the goddess Hadimba, this wooden temple is surrounded by tall cedar trees and manicured gardens. Take a walk around the temple complex and enjoy the lush greenery. The temple closes at 7 pm.
Head out for a day trip to Solang Valley, which offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and is home to a variety of adventure activities like zorbing, paragliding, skiing, and more. Make sure to carry extra warm clothing as it can get pretty chilly at the valley. The best time to visit is between November and February.
Visit the Vashisht Hot Water Springs and Temple, where natural sulphur springs provide a therapeutic soak. Besides enjoying a relaxing dip, explore the beautiful old stone temple, which presents lovely wooden carvings, blackened by the lamps burning continually for centuries. The temple operates every day from 7 am to 9 pm.
Explore the historic Naggar Castle and Art Gallery. The ancient castle situated on the banks of Beas River, and the museum gallery exhibits exclusive masterpieces of the great Russian painter Nicholas Roerich, his son Svetoslav and famous Indian artists. The gallery also has a good collection of century-old daguerreotype cameras. The castle is open from 9 am to 6 pm.
If you have more time, you can consider adding the following places to your itinerary:
- Gulaba Village: If you’re a nature lover, visit Gulaba Village, which offers scenic views and amazing trekking trails.
- Rohtang Pass: If you visit during the summer months, a trip to Rohtang Pass, which is at a height of 3980 meters, is a must.
If you have less time, you can consider removing activities from the itinerary. Also, make sure to carry enough cash in INR as many places don’t accept cards.
