Spread over 321 sq. km, the Mudumalai National Park & Forest is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Trek into the wilderness, pass through the towering trees and watch the elephants roam, listen to the sounds of the forest and chirping birds , spot the occasional leopard stealthily moving between the bushes. Enjoy an exciting jeep safari observing nature at its best. The park is closed on Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly.
If you have more time, add a visit to the tea museum and Nasiyanur Dam. If you have less time, skip Mudumalai National Park and Forest, and add a visit to the Botanical Garden or Sims Park. It's best to hire a car or bike while visiting Ooty as the distances between attractions can be long, and the public transport infrastructure is not very reliable.
