4-Day Honeymoon Itinerary for Ooty in May 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    10 minutes (2 km) from Ooty bus stand

    Begin your honeymoon at Ooty Lake, spread over 65 acres of land, it is the perfect place to spend a romantic evening boating or enjoying the scenic splendor of the Nilgiris. Enjoy the pedal boats, motorboats, and row boats offered by the Lake. For a more secluded experience, rent a small paddle boat and row around the lake.

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (10 km) from Ooty Lake

    To start your second day off, head to the Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in the Nilgiri Hills, 8km from Ooty. Enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Ooty and the surrounding areas. To get the best views try to arrive as early as possible before it gets too crowded.

  3. Day 3: Ooty Botanical Gardens
    20 minutes (6 km) from Doddabetta Peak

    Visit the sprawling Ooty Botanical Gardens, spread over 55 acres, housing over 650 species of flowers and trees, some of which are over a century old. The garden is a feast to the eyes, in full bloom between March to June. Don't miss the mesmerising fern house and Italian court garden.

  4. Day 4: Pykara falls & Pykara boat house
    1 hour 10 minutes (23 km) from Ooty Botanical Gardens

    Spend the day discovering the Pykara falls and boathouse. This sparkling waterfall is amidst dense forests and is a mesmerising sight to behold. Take a short hike around the falls and enjoy the natural beauty. After that hop onto a boat for a romantic tour along the Pykara lake where you can enjoy the serene landscapes and spot rare species of birds.
