Sivagiri Mutt is a pilgrimage center and the final resting place of spiritual leader Sri Narayana Guru. The serene ashram atop a hill offers a panoramic view of the surroundings. The place is open from 5:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Take a walk through the picturesque garden and visit the Sarada Mutt, built-in memory of the Guru's mother, and the Guru's tomb. The temple is open every day from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The temple has a gopuram, a tank, and a mandapa. Visit the temple during the morning or evening aarti to witness the grandeur. The temple has a strict dress code, so dress accordingly.
Papasnanam beach is located near Janardana Swami Temple and has a mythological significance. The water here is believed to have purifying properties that wash off one's sins. The beach is less crowded than Varkala Beach, making it an ideal place for peace-seekers. Take a stroll along the beach, witness the sunset, and feel the power of the waves.
