Begin your honeymoon with a visit to the lush and serene Tea Plantations. These rolling hills carpeted with tea bushes provide a romantic backdrop for walks, photography, and even cycling trips. From there, head to Echo Point, a serene lake where you can take a romantic boat ride. Echo Point is also famous for its unique acoustic properties; any sound made here echos back loudly and distinctly, leading to some romantic photo opportunities and an overall charming atmosphere.
For your second day, head to Top Station, located on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. You’ll be greeted by enchanting views of the Western Ghats and the valley below. After that, take a scenic and adventurous ride to Lakkam Waterfalls, where you can relax and soak in the beauty of the falls. The falls have an idyllic setting, perfect for a romantic afternoon or a picnic with your partner.
If you have more time, include a visit to the Eravikulam National Park, where you can spot the Nilgiri Tahr and other endemic wildlife. If you have less time, skip the Lakkam Waterfalls and spend more time exploring Munnar town, visiting the local markets and trying out some of the local cuisine. Be sure to dress comfortably with good walking shoes, and carry sufficient water and sunscreen!
