Start the trip by visiting the Fort Aguada, which offers a fantastic view of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding greenery. The fort was constructed during the Portuguese era and is well-maintained. Then head to the Calangute Beach, one of the most popular beaches in North Goa. The beach is known for its golden sand dunes and various water sports activities.
Start the day by visiting the Mapusa Market, famous for its fresh fruits, vegetables, and seafood. You can also purchase souvenirs, jewelry, and handicrafts from local sellers. After shopping head to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to see the tomb of St. Francis Xavier.
Take an adventurous day trip to the Dudhsagar Falls, which is one of the most stunning waterfalls in India. You can hire a Jeep or Trek through the lush green forest to reach the falls. On the way back, visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, a lush green area home to some exotic bird species.
End the trip with a visit to the Anjuna Flea Market, known for its hippie culture and shopping. You can buy some souvenirs, clothes, trinkets, and silver jewelry. Once done, head to the Chapora Fort, which is situated on top of a hill, offering a magnificent view of the Chapora River and Vagator Beach.
If you have more time, you can also visit the Fontainhas Latin Quarter, Dona Paula Beach, and Reis Magos Fort. If you have less time, you can skip the Dudhsagar Falls. Wear comfortable shoes as the terrain around Fort Aguada, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, and Chapora Fort can be rocky. Carry a water bottle and sunscreen when visiting the beaches and waterfalls.
