Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiris, standing at an altitude of 8,650 ft. It is a treat for nature lovers with beautiful panoramic views of Ooty and surrounding regions. You can reach the summit through a 10 min drive from the entrance or take a less time-consuming trek from the bottom. Try neighboring tea shops for snacks at the base camp. Do not forget to carry warm clothes if traveling in the evenings.
After enjoying the scenic beauty of Ooty, it's time to indulge in the famous Tea Factory Tours.Learn about the tea-making process, machinery, and the history of tea in the region. You can also buy a variety of tea flavors and souvenirs from the in-house shop. The facility is closed on Sundays and opens from 10 AM to 5:30 PM on all other days.

The Thread Garden is a unique attraction in Ooty, an exquisite floral exhibit made entirely of thread. This quirky and mesmerizing collection of around 150 hand-stitched flowers and plants is a perfect spot for a quick visit. It is open from 9 AM to 6 PM on all days.
If you have more time, you can add more attractions such as Avalanche Lake, Pykara Falls, Ooty Botanical Garden and if you have a lesser time, skip Thread Garden and Tea factory as per your preference and urgency. Hire a driver unless you are confident driving on Indian roads. Do not forget to carry sunscreen, hats and warm clothes while traveling, very likely to be chilly.
