Mudumalai National Park is a Tiger Reserve and home to several other endangered species. Go on a 3-hour jeep safari through the lush forest and spot wild animals such as tigers, elephants, and leopards.
Pykara Lake is surrounded by hills and pine trees, offering peaceful scenery. There are motorboats and rowing boats available for rent, and a small waterfall nearby adds to the charm of the place.
Avalanche Lake is located in a picturesque valley and surrounded by a thick canopy of trees. Go on a 4-hour trek through the woods, cross hanging bridges, and witness blooming rhododendron flowers along the way.
Emerald Lake is an offbeat location with a serene atmosphere and stunning views. Go on a nature walk around the lake, or try fishing for trout. There are also small shops selling local snacks and tea.
If you have more time, consider adding a visit to the tea factories and museums, or exploring the Botanical Gardens in Ooty. If you have less time, skip Avalanche Lake and Emerald Lake. Keep in mind that places may close earlier in the off-peak season, so double-check the opening and closing times before heading out.
