Kodaikanal 2-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coakers Walk
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start off your day with a scenic walk at Coakers Walk, a kilometer-long walkway that offers breathtaking views of the valley below. The path is surrounded by lush greenery and has several viewpoints along the way. The walkway was built in 1872 by Lt. Coaker, and it still remains as one of the prime attractions in Kodaikanal.     After a leisurely walk at Coakers Walk, visit Bryant Park, a beautiful botanical garden filled with over 700 varieties of flora. The park has a lovely collection of hybrid plants, colorful flowers, and shady trees. There is also a glasshouse in the park that houses a variety of exotic plants. Don't forget to check out the Kodaikanal Lake, which is right next to the park. You can take a stroll along the lake or even hire a boat to go boating. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here.

  3. Day 1: Kurinji Andavar Temple
    15 minutes (1.5 miles) from Bryant Park

    End your day with a visit to the Kurinji Andavar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and is built in the Tamil Nadu Dravidian style. The temple is situated at the top of a small hill and has a lovely garden surrounding it. The temple is especially famous for the Kurinji flower, which blooms once in 12 years in the nearby hills. The temple has a serene and peaceful atmosphere, and it's a great place to unwind at the end of the day. Plan to spend around an hour here.

  4. Day 2: Pine Forest
    20 minutes (2.6 miles) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start your day with a visit to the Pine Forest, which is the perfect place for nature lovers. The Pine Forest is situated at a high altitude and has a lovely view of the valley below. The place is serene and peaceful and has several walking paths for you to take in the fresh air. You can even hire bicycles to explore the place. The Pine Forest is an excellent place to click some beautiful photos that capture the essence of Kodaikanal. Spend around 2-3 hours here.

  5. Day 2: Guna Caves
    30 minutes (5.1 miles) from Pine Forest

    After a morning walk at the Pine Forest, continue your day with a visit to the Guna Caves. These caves are believed to be 3000 million years old and are surrounded by lush greenery. The caves have a mysterious and fascinating quality to them, and it's believed that they lead to an underground chamber. The place is often used for film shoots, which have added to its popularity. The Guna Caves are a must-visit place in Kodai if you're a fan of adventure and mystery. Plan to spend around an hour here.
