Rishikesh Family Friendly Itinerary - May 2023

  1. Day 1: Ram Jhula
    15 minutes (3.4km) from Rishikesh bus stand.

    The Ram Jhula is a famous landmark in Rishikesh, which is a suspension bridge over the Ganges and a popular spot among tourists. The bridge connects the Shivananda & Swarg ashrams, and you can take a relaxing walk on the pedestrian deck of the bridge while enjoying the view of the Ganges river. Together with LaxmanJhula, it is also known as one of Rishikesh's holiest places and offers a spiritual feel to your visit.

  2. Day 1: Triveni Ghat
    20 minutes (4.3km) from Ram Jhula

    With a religious significance attaching to the Ganges river, this ghat witnesses daily Arti and takes on a magical aura at twilight. It is known as the place where three rivers(Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati) meet. The nightly Ganga Arti, held at sunset and attended by hundreds, always leaves a deep impression on pilgrims. A perfect place to spend an evening with family, and also enjoy some street food here.

  3. Day 2: Beatles Ashram
    10 minutes (2.6km) from Ram Jhula

    The Beatles Ashram is one of the more unique places to visit Rishikesh. The magical place where the Beatles discovered transcendental meditation has now become an open-air graffiti art museum covered with Beatles song lyrics, quotes, and pop art. The site is now ready to provide you with an ethereal feeling of the times.

  4. Day 2: Neer Garh Waterfall
    40 minutes (17 km) from Beatles Ashram

    The Neer Garh Waterfall is a natural, secluded waterfall, which you can reach in an easy hike of 15-20 minutes. Amid lush green surroundings, it splashes down from a height of 25 m, making it an ideal spot for families to enjoy a scenic picnic and take a dip in the freshwater. An added attraction is the stunning, expansive view of the valley below and the small temple adjacent to the falls.

In Shivpuri, you can indulge in adventure activities such as river rafting, kayaking, and bungee jumping. If you have more time to spend in Rishikesh, you can also visit Gita Bhawan, Parmarth Niketan, and other interesting ashrams on the bank of the Ganges River.

If you have less time, you can skip visiting the Beatles Ashram or the waterfall, or you can reduce the time spent in either of these spots.
