Ooty: A Two-Day Excursion in June 2023

The garden has a range of trees, plants, and flowers. The lake and its surroundings make for a perfect scenic view and a spot to relax and rejuvenate. The lake area is a plastic-free zone to keep it clean.

  3. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (10 km) from Ooty Lake

    Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak of the Nilgiri mountains range, stands at 2,637 meters above sea level and is a perfect location for breathtaking panoramic views of Ooty and its surroundings. Apart from enjoying the picturesque view and clicking pictures with your loved ones, one can indulge in shops filled with various trinkets and souvenirs or eat from a food stall outside. This peak is open till 6 PM, so make sure to get in before that.

  4. Day 2: Rose Garden
    20 minutes (3.5 km) from Ooty Railway Station

    Rose Garden is an exquisite garden maintained by Tamil Nadu’s Horticulture department. It's a perfect spot for flower enthusiasts and photographers. The garden houses over 3600 varieties of roses and has other plants like marigold, hibiscus, and more. The best time to visit this garden is from June to July, where the roses are in full bloom. Gift shops around sell roses and rose products that you can buy for loved ones back home.

  5. Day 2: Pykara Falls
    50 minutes (23 km) from Rose Garden

    Pykara Falls is a cascade located in Pykara, amidst the Nilgiri hills. The falls are located in a place surrounded by dense forests, and it makes for a perfect spot for an adventurous trek or a picnic. There is an entry fee to visit the falls, but it is entirely worth it to experience the natural beauty of Ooty. The waterfalls are open from 9 AM to 6 PM, so it's advisable to arrive early to avoid the crowds.
