Coakers Walk is a scenic pedestrian path located on the edge of a steep slope overlooking the beautiful valley views of Kodaikanal town. It's the perfect spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts in Kodaikanal. Visitors can also get a glimpse of the beautiful telescope house and the sacred monument dedicated to Kurinji flower. Coakers walk is open from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm.
This trek is a must for adventure enthusiasts visiting Kodaikanal. The trek takes about 3 hours to complete, with some beautiful scenery unfolding along the route. The highest point of the trek is the Dolphin's nose that offers a stunning view of the valley below. Then we will visit Vattakanal falls which is a beautiful heaven on earth with its gorgeous view of majestic mountains and lush greenery. It is open for visitors from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Kodaikanal is surrounded by dense pine forests, and staying in a cozy tent in the midst of the pine forest is an experience that one shouldn't miss out on. You will feel the cold breeze blowing through the forest as it sings you to sleep. Wildlife sightings are common within the forest, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Camping in Kodaikanal is available from 7 pm to 7 am.
If you have more time, you can explore other activities such as visiting the Kodaikanal Lake, Pillar rocks, and Green Valley View. If you have less time, you can skip any of the suggested activities except for Coakers walk as it offers a unique experience. Don't forget to pack warm clothes as the temperature can get quite low in the night and early morning. Lastly, make sure to carry plenty of water while trekking and camping.
