Kodaikanal Lake is a beautiful star-shaped artificial lake. It was built in 1863 and is surrounded by dense forests and mountains. The serene surroundings make it an ideal place to relax and unwind. You will find plenty of boating options and horse riding facilities around the lake. If you're visiting during the summer months, be sure to carry a jacket as it can get quite chilly.
Coaker's walk is a beautiful pathway constructed by Lt. Coaker in 1872. It runs along the edge of steep slopes with stunning views of the valley below. You can also see the plains of Madurai on a clear day. The walk is one-kilometer long and is an easy walk suitable for all ages. It is closed during heavy mist or rainfall.
Bryant Park is a botanical garden that spans across 20 acres, and is home to more than 325 species of trees, shrubs and cacti. You will also find colourful hybrid flowers and a greenhouse here. The park also has several stalls selling snacks and souvenirs. It is closed on Tuesdays.
The Pillar Rocks are three massive granite boulders that stand at a height of 400 feet. The view of the valley from the top of the rocks is breathtaking. A small garden near the rocks has several viewpoints and is a perfect place for a picnic. The rocks are closed during heavy fog or rainfall.
The Pine Forest is located on the way to Guna caves and is a dense forest with tall pine trees. Its serene and calm surroundings make it a perfect place to unwind and relax. You will also find several viewpoints offering stunning views of the valley.
If you have more time, you can visit the Guna Caves or the Bear Shola Falls. If you have less time, you can skip the Pine Forest or the Bryant Park. Be sure to carry warm clothing as the weather can be unpredictable in Kodaikanal.
