Get up close and personal with Giant Asiatic elephants at the Dubare Elephant Camp. Participate in an elephant interaction and learn about their daily lives, habits and routines. Feed and bathe these gentle giants, and take a leisurely ride atop the trained elephants through the lush green forest trails. Watch the experienced Mahouts teaching basic commands to the elephants. You can also indulge in white water rafting, trekking, and camping nearby the camp.
Visit the spectacular Abbey Falls, which features a breathtaking waterfall cascading from a height of 70 feet into a pool below. Listen to the sound of falling water as you explore the beautiful and tranquil flora and fauna of the surrounding estates and forests. Take a nature walk and spot exotic birds and butterflies amidst the spice, coffee and tea plantation. Capture postcard-perfect pictures of the falls from the hanging bridge.
If you have extra time, you can visit the Talakaveri, the source of river Cauvery and take a dip at Bhagamandala temple. You can also indulge in some adventure sports at Madikeri and visit Raja's Seat for an enchanting panoramic view of the sunset. Alternatively, if you have lesser time, skip Abbey Falls to spend more time at Dubare Elephant Camp or explore the nearby jungle.
