Start your nature adventure at the Dudhsagar Falls, one of India's highest waterfalls. In August, the monsoon season, you will see the falls in full force. Enjoy swimming at the base of the falls before indulging in local delicacies like fish curry and rice at the canteen. Don't forget to carry enough cash as credit cards are not accepted here.
On Day 2, visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and spend your morning exploring the rich flora and fauna. This sanctuary is home to numerous species of birds, both residents, and migratory. Take a boat ride through the mangrove swamps and immerse yourself in nature. Don't forget to bring your binoculars!
Another day, another sanctuary! The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary will keep you engaged with a variety of wildlife, including bison, sloth bears, and leopards. Take a trek through the dense forests for nature lovers or a jeep safari for those who prefer a less strenuous option. End your day with a stay at one of the eco-cottages available in the sanctuary.
Spend your last day at South Goa's beaches. Palolem Beach is known for its white sands and clear waters. Take a dip in the Arabian Sea or indulge in water sports like kayaking, rafting, and banana boating. Get your adrenaline pumping before stuffing yourself with fresh seafood available at numerous shacks on the beach.
If you have more time, take a trip to the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary for more wildlife sightings. Or explore the ancient Shri Manguesh Temple to learn about South Goa's rich history. If you only have three days, skip the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary.
