Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in Ooty at 8,650 feet, offers stunning views of the Nilgiri Hills. Take the toy train to the top of the peak and enjoy the cool breeze and panoramic views of the surrounding town. If you are lucky, you may also spot rare birds and animals. There are also plenty of food stalls and souvenir shops to explore at the summit.
Pykara Lake is a serene and picturesque spot surrounded by lush green forests. Take a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the views of the hills and the Pykara Dam. Next, head to the nearby Pykara Falls, which is a stunning waterfall cascading down from a height of 200 feet. It's an ideal place for a picnic and to capture some memorable pictures.
The Rose Garden is a beautiful and well-maintained garden with over 20,000 varieties of roses. Take a leisurely stroll in the garden and spot some of the unique flowers. Next, head to a nearby tea factory where you can learn the process of tea-making and taste different varieties of tea. The Tea Factory also has a gift shop to purchase some tea and souvenirs before you head back home.
If you have more time, you can also add a visit to the Tribal Museum and the Wax World Museum. For less time, you can skip the Tea Factory or Pykara Lake and Falls. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and carry sunscreen and a hat since the weather can be unpredictable. You can also buy some homemade chocolates and spices in Ooty as a souvenir.
