Begin your trip by visiting Amer Fort, one of the finest forts in India. The fort is surrounded by the Aravalli Range and overlooks Maota Lake. Admire the beautiful architecture and intricate carvings inside the fort. Don't miss the Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Palace of Mirrors. Here, you can see walls covered in thousands of tiny mirrors that sparkle under the sunlight.
Start your day by exploring the grand City Palace. The palace complex comprises of beautiful gardens, courtyards, and several buildings that showcase the art and architecture of the Rajput dynasty. Next, visit the iconic Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, a five-story palace built from red and pink sandstone. The palace has over 900 small windows, which were used by the royal ladies to observe the street festivals without being seen.
On your last day, visit Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site that features a collection of architectural astronomical instruments. The observatory was built by Jai Singh II and can measure time, predict eclipses, and track stars. Next, head to the Albert Hall Museum, which has a vast collection of artifacts, paintings, and sculptures including an Egyptian mummy. The museum is housed in a beautiful building that was designed in Indo-Saracenic style.
If you have extra time, consider visiting the Jal Mahal, a palace located in the middle of Maan Sagar Lake, or the Nahargarh Fort, which offers beautiful views of the city. For food, try some of the local delicacies such as Pyaaz Kachori, Dal Baati Churma, and Ghewar. If you have less time, skip the Albert Hall Museum. It is a bit further away and the collection is not as impressive as the other locations.
