Begin your trip with a visit to the Mattupetty Dam, situated in the hills near Munnar. Built-in the late 1940s, the dam is an engineering marvel and provides water to the surrounding tea gardens. Stroll around the dam to enjoy the serene views of the valley. From here, head to the Tata Tea Museum, located just 5 minutes away. Learn about the tea-making process, right from picking the leaves to brewing the perfect cup. Visitors can also purchase different varieties of tea from the museum shop.
After lunch, head to Echo Point, which is a unique spot where your voice echoes back to you from the hills. The place also offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and is perfect for photography enthusiasts. From here, continue the drive to Top Station, which is the highest point in Munnar, situated at an altitude of 1,880 meters. The view of the Western Ghats from here is mesmerizing. One can also see the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu from this viewpoint.
