Kodaikanal 2-Day Itinerary for May 2023

  1. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Take a scenic stroll along this narrow pedestrian path that runs along the edge of the hill offering stunning views of the valley below. The walk is about a kilometer long and takes about an hour during which you can enjoy the cool mountain air and the beautiful surroundings. There are also plenty of benches along the way where you can enjoy a quiet moment of contemplation.

  2. Day 1: Bryant Park
    10 minutes (0.5 miles) from Coaker's Walk

    This botanical garden is a delight for nature lovers. Take a leisurely walk around the park and admire the wide variety of flowers, trees, and shrubs. The park also has a glasshouse that displays a wide variety of exotic flowers and plants. Do not miss the annual flower show held here in May which showcases a wide variety of flowers.

  3. Day 1: Kodai Lake
    5 minutes (0.3 miles) from Bryant Park

    Enjoy a serene boat ride on the picturesque Kodai Lake which is spread over 60 acres. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and is a popular spot for picnics and evening walks. You can also go cycling or horse riding around the lake.

  4. Day 2: Pillar Rocks
    1 hour 10 minutes (12 miles) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    The Pillar Rocks are a set of three giant rock pillars that stand tall amidst a dense forest. The view of the valleys and the cliffs from the top of the pillars is breathtaking. There is also a small garden near the pillars where you can relax and enjoy the view.

  5. Day 2: Guna Caves
    20 minutes (4 miles) from Pillar Rocks

    The Guna Caves also known as the Devil's Kitchen is a set of deep bat-infested chambers between the three gigantic boulders that are the Pillar Rocks. It is believed that these caves were once used by the ancient tribes for meditation. A word of caution, the caves are not for the faint-hearted as they are dark, damp and have uneven terrain.

  6. Day 2: Berijam Lake
    1 hour 20 minutes (20 miles) from Guna Caves

    The Berijam Lake is a scenic freshwater reservoir that is nestled amidst dense forests and rolling hills. The lake is a haven for birdwatchers as it is home to a wide variety of birds including kingfishers, black woodpeckers, and flycatchers. Do not forget to get the necessary permissions from the forest department to visit this lake.
