Kodaikanal: A 2-Day Itinerary (May 2023)

  1. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start your day with a refreshing walk along Coaker's Walk. This 1-km-long paved pedestrian path offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. On a clear day, you can even see the famous Dolphin's Nose rock formation in the distance. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the panoramic vistas.

  2. Day 1: Bryant Park and Kodaikanal Lake

    After the walk, head to Bryant Park, a beautifully landscaped garden that houses a variety of flowers, plants, and trees. Take some time to relax and enjoy the serene environment.   3. Day 1: Kurinji Andavar Temple and Chettiar Park

    Next, visit the Kurinji Andavar Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple is known for its Kurinji flower, which blooms only once every 12 years. If you're lucky, you might get to see it during your visit. After the temple, head to Chettiar Park, a small park with a beautiful waterfall and a mini-golf course.

  4. Day 2: Pillar Rocks and Guna Caves
    30 minutes (8 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start your second day with a visit to the Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock formations that stand tall at a height of 400 feet. The view of the rocks against the backdrop of the lush green forest is truly magnificent. After the rocks, head to Guna Caves, a natural cave formation that is said to have been discovered by a Tamil movie crew during the filming of the movie "Guna". The cave is now a popular tourist attraction.

  5. Day 2: Berijam Lake and Silent Valley Viewpoint
    1 hour (21 km) from Guna Caves

    End your trip with a scenic drive to Berijam Lake, a serene reservoir amidst the dense forest. The lake is a protected area and requires a permit from the forest department to enter. If you're lucky, you might spot some wildlife such as bison and deer. After the lake, head to Silent Valley Viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the valley below.
