Two-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Munnar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Tea Plantations and Waterfalls Tour

    Start your trip to Munnar with a visit to the famous tea plantations and tea museum. Learn about the history of tea in Munnar and how the tea leaves are processed to make different types of tea. You can also enjoy some tea tasting and purchase some tea leaves to take home. Next, head to the beautiful Attukad Waterfalls, which is a great spot for a picnic and to take some scenic photos. After that, proceed to Lakkam Waterfalls to relax and enjoy the serene environment. Your day ends with a visit to the Blossom Hydel Park, where you can enjoy boating, cycling and have fun with your family.

  2. Day 2: Wildlife and Adventure Day
    30 minutes (12 miles) from Munnar town

    Start your day with an early morning visit to Eravikulam National Park, the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Enjoy a guided tour of the park and its beautiful flora and fauna. After that, move to the Mattupetty Dam to enjoy a boat ride or try your hand at fishing. Then, head to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, the highest tea plantation in the world, to learn about the cultivation and production of tea. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also take a jeep safari to the estate. Your day ends with a visit to Echo Point, where you can shout out your name and hear it echo back.
