Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad with an elevation of 2,100 meters above sea level. The trek begins from the foothills and takes around 3-4 hours to reach the top, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundings. The peak is home to a heart-shaped lake, known as Hridaya Saras, which never dries up. The trek is moderately difficult and is open from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Edakkal Caves are a set of two natural caves located on top of Ambukutty Mala, at an altitude of 4,000 feet. The caves are famous for their ancient rock engravings, dating back to the Neolithic era. The trek to the caves is a bit strenuous, but the panoramic views of the surrounding valley make it worthwhile. The caves are open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Kuruvadweep is a group of small islands on the Kabini River, spread over an area of 950 acres. The islands are covered with dense forests and are home to a variety of flora and fauna, including rare species of birds and butterflies. The best way to explore the islands is by taking a bamboo raft ride, which takes around 2 hours. The islands are open from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm and are closed on Mondays.
