Seven Days in Kashmir, November 2023

  1. Day 1: Srinagar
    20 minutes (7.8 km) from Srinagar International Airport

    Begin your journey in Srinagar, famously known as the "Venice of the East." Take a shikara ride on the serene Dal Lake as you watch the sun set behind the Himalayas. End your day with a cup of kahwah, a traditional Kashmiri tea.

  2. Day 2: Pahalgam
    2 hours 30 minutes (96 km) from Srinagar

    Visit the picturesque town of Pahalgam, situated on the banks of the Lidder River. Explore the breathtaking Betaab Valley, named after the Bollywood movie that was filmed there. If you're feeling adventurous, take a hike to the stunning Kolahoi Glacier.

  3. Day 3: Gulmarg
    3 hours 30 minutes (140 km) from Pahalgam

    Head to Gulmarg, known as the "Meadow of Flowers." Take a scenic gondola ride to the top of Apharwat Peak for breathtaking views of the Himalayas. If you're visiting in November, you may be able to experience your first snowfall of the season.

  4. Day 4: Sonamarg
    3 hours (80 km) from Gulmarg

    Explore the charming town of Sonamarg, nestled in a valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Visit the Thajiwas Glacier and take a pony ride to get up close and personal with the glaciers. End your day with a cup of hot chocolate by the river.

  5. Day 5: Srinagar
    2 hours 30 minutes (80 km) from Sonamarg

    Return to Srinagar and take a tour of the beautiful Mughal Gardens, which include the Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi. Visit the Hazratbal Shrine, a revered Muslim shrine that houses a relic believed to be a hair of the Prophet Muhammad.

  6. Day 6: Kargil
    8 hours (210 km) from Srinagar

    Take a scenic drive to the town of Kargil, situated at an altitude of 2,676 meters. Visit the Kargil War Memorial and pay your respects to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the 1999 war between India and Pakistan. Take a stroll through the local bazaar and shop for souvenirs.

  7. Day 7: Leh
    5 hours (220 km) from Kargil

    End your trip in the beautiful town of Leh. Visit the Thiksey Monastery, which houses a 15-meter-tall statue of the Maitreya Buddha. Take a drive to the Indus-Zanskar confluence and marvel at the stunning views. End your trip with a traditional Ladakhi meal.
