Located on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak, this government-owned garden is spread over 55 acres and contains a variety of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, herbal, bonsai plants, and several species of birds. A perfect place to take a stroll and enjoy the lush greenery, this garden also has a fossil tree trunk estimated to be 20 million years old.
Standing at an altitude of 2,623 meters above sea level, Doddabetta is the highest peak in the Nilgiri mountain range. The breathtaking views from the peak include the lush greenery of the valley, the town of Ooty, and the surrounding hills. There are also telescopes installed at the peak to observe the surrounding landscape closely.
The Tea Factory and Museum is located in the middle of a tea plantation and gives an insight into the tea-making process, right from the plucking of the tea leaves to the packaging of the final product. Visitors can also sample various flavors of tea at the museum store.
