The Ooty Botanical Gardens is a must-visit for nature lovers, and is home to a variety of exotic flora and fauna. Spread over 22 hectares, the gardens feature a fossilised tree trunk that is believed to be more than 20 million years old. The gardens also house a beautiful Italian-style garden, a conservatory and a fern house that is home to an impressive collection of ferns and orchids.
The highest peak in the Nilgiri mountain range, Doddabetta Peak offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The peak is located at an altitude of 2,637 metres above sea level, and is a popular spot for trekking and hiking. Visitors can take a scenic drive to the top, or opt for a challenging trek up the hill.
Avalanche Lake is a serene and picturesque lake located amidst the Nilgiri hills. Surrounded by lush green forests, the lake offers a perfect spot for picnics and relaxation. Visitors can also indulge in activities like fishing and camping in the nearby areas. The lake is accessible only through a forest route, and visitors are advised to take a local guide along.
