Coorg 3-Day Itinerary for May 2023

  1. Day 1: Talakaveri
    1 hour 20 minutes (43.3 km) from Madikeri

    Visit the source of the sacred river Kaveri at Talakaveri which is situated on the Brahmagiri hills. The water is said to emerge from a small spring and then flows underground before emerging as the river. The spot is also considered holy and has a small temple built around it. The view from the top of the hill is breathtaking with lush green forests and valleys all around. Make sure to carry comfortable shoes for the climb and cover your head while entering the temple.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    40 minutes (20.9 km) from Madikeri

    Located on the banks of Cauvery river, Dubare is an elephant camp where you can experience and interact with elephants. The camp is managed by the forest department and offers activities like elephant feeding, bathing and a jungle trek with elephants. You can also learn about the life of elephants and their training methods. Make sure to carry comfortable clothes and shoes as it involves a lot of walking and water activities.

  3. Day 3: Abbey Falls
    30 minutes (9.7 km) from Madikeri

    Abbey Falls is a beautiful waterfall nestled between coffee and spice plantations. The waterfall is at its best during the monsoon season and offers a picturesque view with the water cascading down from a height of 70 feet. You can also take a small trek to reach the view point where the waterfall is visible in its full glory. The area surrounding the falls is also great for birdwatching and nature walks. Make sure to carry an umbrella or raincoat during the monsoon season.
