2-day Family-friendly Itinerary for Rishikesh in May 2023

  1. Day 1: Neer Garh Waterfall
    30 minutes (7.2 km) from Rishikesh

    Start your first day in Rishikesh at Neer Garh Waterfall which is a perfect spot for your family to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. It is a 20 feet high waterfall and you can reach the spot by trekking on the 2 km trail. The trail offers scenic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Be sure to carry snacks and water as there are no eateries nearby. You can spend 2-3 hours here and return to Rishikesh for lunch.

  2. Day 1: Parmarth Niketan Ashram
    20 minutes (4.3 km) from Neer Garh Waterfall

    After lunch, head to Parmarth Niketan Ashram which is a spiritual and wellness center situated on the banks of River Ganges. The ashram offers a serene and peaceful environment for meditation and yoga. You can participate in the daily yoga and meditation sessions or simply walk around and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The ashram also has a Ganga Aarti ceremony at sunset which is a must-see. Spend 2-3 hours here and return to your hotel for dinner.

  3. Day 2: Rajaji National Park
    1 hour 20 minutes (34.8 km) from Rishikesh

    Start your second day at Rajaji National Park which is a great place for a family outing. The park is home to various species of flora and fauna including tigers, elephants, and leopards. You can go on a jungle safari or a nature walk to explore the park. The park also has a tiger reserve which is a must-visit. Carry snacks and water as there are no eateries inside the park. Spend 4-5 hours here and return to Rishikesh for lunch.

  4. Day 2: Triveni Ghat
    15 minutes (3.7 km) from Rajaji National Park

    After lunch, head to Triveni Ghat which is a famous bathing ghat located on the banks of River Ganges. It is a great place to witness the evening Aarti ceremony and take a dip in the holy river. The ghat is also a great place for photography and you can enjoy some street food here. Spend 2-3 hours here and return to your hotel for dinner.
