Start your adventure by hiking up to the highest peak in Wayanad, Chembra Peak. This 6.5 km trek offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, tea plantations and the heart-shaped Chembra Lake. Remember to obtain permission from the forest office before embarking on the trek. Carry enough water, snacks and a first-aid kit. Camping at the peak is also permitted, however, it is advisable to book in advance, especially during peak season. The trek is open from 7am to 2pm and the entire trip might take around 5-6 hours.
A cascading three-tier waterfall located in the lush forests of Wayanad, Meenmutty Falls is a must-visit for all nature lovers. The trek to the falls is moderately difficult, but the sight of the falls and the surrounding greenery make it all worth it. Do carry enough water and snacks as there are no shops or facilities near the falls. The falls are open from 9am to 5pm and the entire trip might take around 4-5 hours.
