Motorcycle Riding Itinerary for Wayanad in June 2023

1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam
   30 minutes (11 miles) from Kalpetta

   Start your adventure with a visit to the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India. Surrounded by the Banasura hills, the reservoir offers a scenic view of the mountains and the lush green forest. You can also opt for a speedboat ride or trek to the nearby hills.

2. Day 2: Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary
   40 minutes (18 miles) from Kalpetta

   Explore the biodiversity of Wayanad at Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected forest area home to various species of flora and fauna. Embark on a jeep safari to witness elephants, leopards, and tigers in their natural habitat. The sanctuary also offers a tribal dance performance and an eco-tourism camping experience.

3. Day 3: Edakkal Caves
   30 minutes (9 miles) from Sulthan Bathery

   Step back in time by visiting the Edakkal Caves, an ancient site known for its rock art and carvings dating back to the Neolithic era. Located on Ambukuthi Hill, the caves offer a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape and a challenging trekking experience.

4. Day 4: Chembra Peak
   1 hour 10 minutes (27 miles) from Kalpetta

   End your motorcycle riding adventure by conquering the highest peak in Wayanad, the Chembra Peak. Trek up to the heart-shaped lake on the top of the mountain which offers a breathtaking view of the hills and the Western Ghats. A permit from the Meppadi Forest Department is required for the trek.
