Explore the Edakkal Caves, a unique natural formation consisting of two granite boulders, each resting on a larger rock formation. Inside the caves are ancient petroglyphs, believed to be over 5000 years old, depicting human and animal figures. The hike to the caves is approximately 1.5 km and takes around 45 minutes. The view from the top is breathtaking and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding region.
Hike the highest peak in Wayanad, Chembra Peak, which stands at 2100 metres above sea level. The trek to the peak is a challenging one, but the stunning views from the top are worth the effort. The trek is around 4 km and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. Along the way, you will encounter a heart-shaped lake named 'Hridaya Saras', which is believed to have medicinal properties.
Visit the serene Pookode Lake, surrounded by lush green forests and hills. You can take a pedal boat ride on the lake and enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. The lake is also home to a variety of fish and birds. There is a nature park nearby where you can take a leisurely walk and observe the flora and fauna of the region.
