Start your adventure in Wayanad by hiking up to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in the region. The trek will take you through lush green forests and you will be able to spot unique flora and fauna. Once you reach the top, you will be greeted with a heart-shaped lake and panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Please note that visitors are allowed only till the heart shaped lake and camping on the peak has been suspended until further notice.
Spend your second day exploring Kuruva Island, a group of small islands on the Kabini River. The island is known for its dense forests, unique flora and fauna, and beautiful streams. You can enjoy a relaxing boat ride, go for a swim in the river, or simply take a stroll through the island's serene pathways. The island also has tree-houses and swings for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
On your final day, visit the Edakkal Caves, a group of natural caves located on the Ambukutty Mala hill. The caves have ancient carvings and paintings, dating back to the Neolithic era, and are considered to be one of the earliest known human settlements in the region. After a 20-minute trek up to the caves, visitors can explore the narrow passages and admire the stunning views of the surrounding valley.
