3-Day Honeymoon Itinerary in Wayanad, August 2023

1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam
   45 minutes (16.1 miles) from Kalpetta

   Banasura Sagar Dam is the perfect romantic spot to begin your honeymoon. This gravity dam is built across the Karamanathodu river and is surrounded by lush greenery that will leave you spellbound. Take a walk around the dam, pedal boat and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and trees. You can also go for a trekking experience on the nearby hills.

2. Day 2: Chembra Peak
   1 hour 20 minutes (22.5 miles) from Banasura Sagar Dam

   Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad and offers a breathtaking view from the top. It is a heart-shaped lake on the way to the top that is believed to have never dried up. The trek to the top is moderate and will take approximately 3 hours. You will need to take permission from the forest office before the trek. The mesmerizing views from the top will be worth all the effort.

3. Day 3: Edakkal Caves
   1 hour 10 minutes (21.4 miles) from Chembra Peak

   Edakkal Caves are located on top of Ambukuthi Hills and are of great historical and archaeological significance. The caves are famous for their ancient rock paintings dating back to the Neolithic era. The trek to the caves is steep and can be completed in approximately 45 minutes. The view from the top, the caves and the rock paintings are sure to leave you awestruck.
