Start your trip with a leisurely stroll along the Coaker's Walk, a narrow pedestrian path overlooking the scenic valleys of Kodaikanal. The walk is lined with tall pine trees, and on a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of the distant Vaigai Dam and the Madurai city skyline. There are several viewpoints along the walk, including the Telescope House, where you can rent a telescope to get a closer look at the panoramic views. The walk is best enjoyed during the early mornings or late evenings, with cool breeze and mist swirling around you.
A visit to Kodaikanal is incomplete without exploring the lush greenery of Bryant Park. The park is spread over 20 acres and is home to over 700 species of trees, shrubs and plants, including several exotic species. The park is at its best during the summer months when the flower show is in full bloom. You can also enjoy a peaceful boat ride in the nearby Kodaikanal Lake or try some local street food from the vendors outside the park.
Escape the hustle and bustle of the town and head towards the pristine Berijam Lake, nestled in the heart of Palani Hills. The lake is surrounded by thick forests, and the crystal-clear water reflects the surrounding mountains and trees, creating a serene atmosphere. You can take a walk along the lake, go on a bird-watching tour or simply relax by the shore and enjoy a picnic with your loved ones. Please note that prior permission from the forest department is required to visit the lake, and the number of visitors is limited to 100 per day.
