2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Wayanad, June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Chembara Peak
    30 minutes (9.4 km) from Kalpetta

    Start your adventure with a trek to Chembara Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the peak takes around 3-4 hours and is a moderate level trek. The scenic beauty of the peak is sure to take your breath away. Don't forget to carry enough water and snacks for the trek.

  2. Day 1: Experience Bamboo Rafting in Kuruva Island
    1 hour (23.3 km) from Chembara Peak

    After lunch, head to the Kuruva Island for an exciting bamboo rafting experience. The island is a unique eco-tourism destination and is the only uninhabited island in Kerala. The rafting experience takes around 2-3 hours and takes you through the serene forests and streams of the island.

  3. Day 1: Visit Thirunelli Temple
    1.5 hours (45.5 km) from Kuruva Island

    End your day with a visit to the ancient Thirunelli Temple, located amidst the lush greenery of Brahmagiri Hills. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is believed to have been built by Lord Brahma himself. The temple is known for its intricate architecture and serene surroundings.

  4. Day 2: Explore Edakkal Caves
    1 hour (27.6 km) from Kalpetta

    Start your second day with a visit to the historic Edakkal Caves. The caves are known for their prehistoric rock art and are believed to be around 6000 years old. The hike to the caves takes around 45 minutes and is a moderate level trek. The view from the top is breathtaking.

  5. Day 2: Go on a Jeep Safari in Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour (25 km) from Edakkal Caves

    After lunch, head to the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary for an exciting jeep safari. The sanctuary is home to a variety of flora and fauna including elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. The safari takes around 2-3 hours and is an excellent opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat.
